Dr John Joseph has extensive experience working in the public sector in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Joseph is a specialist adult psychiatrist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of adults with psychiatric illness, including mood disorders (Depression and Bipolar Disorder), anxiety disorders (including obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder), psychosis, and psychiatric complications of medical conditions and addiction.

Dr Joseph undertakes a comprehensive assessment of psychiatric problems taking into account the life history, genetics, temperament, physical health and current life events. He maintains a special emphasis on early identification and treatment of psychiatric illness, leading to better outcomes.

Dr Joseph also has a special interest in cultural psychiatry and the mental health issues of the immigrant population.
