I am a Consultant Psychiatrist employed at Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services since 2012. I previously worked in this role at Counties Manukau District Health Board and Hauora Waikato Maori Mental Health Services.

I am a certified Forensic Psychiatrist, a Member of The Royal College of Psychiatrists, United Kingdom, and a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. I have a research interest in the translational Neuroscience as it applies to Psychiatric and Cognitive rehabilitation.

I have worked in mental health services in the United Kingdom and New Zealand across a broad range of acute and rehabilitation settings that includes community, crisis, hospital, and forensic. I specialise in General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry, and has experience in the evaluation and management of Anxiety Spectrum Disorders, Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders, Obsessive- Compulsive Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Psychotic Spectrum Disorders, Neurocognitive Disorders and Substance Use Disorders. Furthermore, I am available to provide expert evaluations and testimonies in civil and criminal matters, including personal injury and disability claims, and fitness and insanity related evaluations in criminal trials. I am also able to provide comprehensive psychiatric reports for matters relating to insurance, work-capacity, and immigration.

My clinical experience over the years enables me to engage compassionately with individuals suffering from mental-health related difficulties and to remain person and recovery focussed in my clinical approach. You can expect to have a comprehensive psychiatric assessment that informs you of the biological & psycho-social factors that contribute to your illnesses, and also your recovery from the mental illness. I endeavour to work collaboratively with the individuals and their General Practitioners to develop an individualised care plan that is based on the latest research evidence in Psychiatry.
